For example, you can take yarn and glue it on all the lines of a coloring page. If an illustration is detailed, you can just outline the drawing instead of filling up space. You can consider even more untraditional coloring materials like pasta, beans, beads, or buttons. Or roll up pieces of tissue paper into balls to glue down. You can use small pieces of colored cardstock to create a mosaic look. Since I’m a paper lover, I often suggest collage as an alternative.
